I have been working with HCL Commerce technology for about a year now. And one of the challenges i have faced on this technology was the scarcity of its reference to the public. You wouldn’t find it easily on Google if you are starting out.
But these are the essential references one should use, for starting out with HCL Commerce.
HCLSoftware U
URL: https://hclsoftwareu.hcltechsw.com/
This should be the first stop of anyone who wanted to start with HCL Commerce. Registeration is free, and once registered you can take the available courses for HCL products. Of course you wanted to see only HCL Commerce topic, so Under “Courses” menu, you can search for “HCL Commerce” category to find all available courses for it.
It is recommended to start in following sequence to better understand the topic
- HCL Commerce Foundation
- HCL Commerce Architecture Fundamentals
- HCL Commerce Site and Store Architecture
- HCL Commerce Business User Fundamentals Course
- HCL Commerce Deployment Architecture
- HCL Commerce Operational Architecture
- HCL Commerce Search
Unfortunately, as of this writing (6/3/2023), some of the videos in the online courses are not available.
HCL Production Documentation
URL: https://help.hcltechsw.com/commerce/9.1.0/getting_started/tasks/tgs_overview_getting_started.html
This is mostly intended for architects and developers who requires better understand the technical areas of HCL Commerce.
Below are the key section of the documentation has been quite useful for me
- Data models (hcltechsw.com) – understanding the data models is important, so identifying for the correct information will be much easier.
- Storefront REST API (hcltechsw.com) – this contains all the OpenAPI spec documentation of the API that the storefront is using.
Note: I will update this page as i’ll find reference to the HCL Commerce.
